Russian Minister of Defence attends plenary session of Public Council (of the Russian Defence Ministry
Today, National Centre for State Defence Control hosted a plenary session of the Public Council of the Russian Defence Ministry. It was attended by Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
The event started with a minute of silence in memory of victims that passed away in the plane crash a year ago in Sochi.
Sergei Shoigu invited the members of the Public Council to look at first flights of cadet-girls at the Krasnadar Aviation School.
He also told the Council that Russia had sent more than 10,000 New Year presents to Syrian pupils.
During the discussion, he emphasized that military construction in the Arctic was nearing its completion.
The Russian Minister of Defence also announced that he had signed the youth summer camps programme for 2018. It is planned to open 1,300 centres.
In conclusion he expressed satisfaction with the Public Council’s work in 2017 and called for constructive and fruitful work in the future.
